Proverbs 31:18, “She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.”
She knows that the Spirit of God within her is good and her faith in Him does not go out in the storms of life. She keeps her faith strong by reading the Word of God and with daily prayer. She knows not to be weary in well doing for she shall reap if she faints not. She knows that if she delights herself in the Lord He will give her the desires of her heart. So, she holds on to the prophesies that she receives with earnest expectation. She hides the world of God in her heart, so that she might not sin against the Lord. She knows that God is not a man that he should lie, or the son of man that he should repent. She knows that God has given her Angles to watch over her and bare her up in their arms, so that she will not dash her foot against a stone. She knows that Jesus will return for her, so her heart does safely trust Him. Though the night maybe dark and long and the valley steep it does not shake her faith or dim her love for Him. Her weeping may endure for the night, but joy is restored to her in the morning. Her faith is not circumstantial, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Therefore, she fights in victory knowing that she is more than a conqueror.
Ladies, dare to be that virtuous woman of God and watch Him take care of it all. Please share with me how you are fighting the good fight of faith.
Are you upholding your family responsibilities? If so, what challenges have you faced?
It is a real challenge to walk out these family responsibilities within a church. We my think it is easier to be holy when no one else is around. This way we are never upset or frustrated. But that is not true holiness because true holiness is tested. Rick Warren said it best, “Isolation breeds deceitfulness; it is easy to fool ourselves into thinking we are mature if there is no one to challenge us. Real maturity shows up in relationships.”
The Bible is a great tool to help up grow, but we need more than that; we need one another. Accountability to one another helps us to grow stronger and faster. Taking the time to teach and correct one another in love builds a community of mature believers.
The scriptures tell us in Hebrews 10:35 to “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.” In meditating on this verse, we see that confidence has rewards. This leaves me to question which type of confidence? I mean, is confidence in our abilities strong enough to sustain us through life? Is confidence in a person able to benefit us? Neither of these are sufficient.
The type of confidence the author was referring to can be found in Proverbs 3:26, “For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep they foot from being taken.” Only confidence in God (El Elyon) can sustain us through life and be a benefit to us. Putting confidence in man or our own flesh is futile, because we are not perfect and don’t have the power within ourselves to know the future or the outcome of a matter.
So, when I think about what benefits confidence in God brings, immediately three come to mind:
1. Confidence attracts people, or divine relationship connects.
2. Confidence helps one to accomplish goals.
3. Confidence attracts money.
Can you think of any other benefit confidence in God will bring? Please list them in your comment. I would love to hear your thoughts.
So many people are unhappy and really, it’s nothing new. People are unhappy in their relationships, with their finances, with themselves, their jobs - you name it. The world is filled with unhappy people who in turn are making life miserable for others. This is a sad state of affairs.
Fortunately, life doesn’t have to be miserable at all. We as humans need to learn how to resolve inner man conflict. This inner conflict is a root cause for our misery and it amazes me how we reflect that anger and conflict on to others; finding fault in everything others do. No two people are alike. There are going to be differences in people that we don’t like and when we have inner conflict those difference are magnified and cause irritation that can become unbearable.
This is why in Eph. 3:16 the Apostle Paul encourages us to be strengthened with might by the Spirit in the inner man. God grants us the ability to be strengthened in the inner man according to the riches of His glory. When we take time to resolve inner man conflict, our relationships work, our finances turn around for the better and we have peace with ourselves. We are better able to deal with the negativity of the world.
To resolve this inner conflict we must take care of our souls. We take care of our souls by doing as Psalm 1:2 instructs us, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” We must find delight in meditating on the Word of God and do it consistently. The delight will not come right away, but after time – a few months, a year, even a decade, lol! But it will come as long as we stay consistent.
If any of you are like me, I want the promises of God yesterday. But, it takes time folks, faith and patience. We are the micro wave and internet generation – We want it now!!! And I am reminded of the phrase that says with faith and patience posses ye your souls.
Consistency of the Word of God brings strength that produces fruit. You don’t believe me let’s read on. Psalms 1:3a says, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season…” A tree planted by the river is strong because its roots grow deep by drinking of the water. Then it is able to produce much fruit for others to be nourished.
The rest of that verse goes on to say, “…his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Now I don’t know about you, but that sounds heavy to me. If I just meditate on the Word day and night continuously then whatever I do will prosper. That sounds like a guarantee to me. To meditate is to think, reflect, consider. Phil 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Is not the Word of God all of these a fore mentioned things?
My desire is for everyone to take care of his or her soul by resolving the inner conflict by meditating on the Word of God. What you take time to develop on the inside of you will reflect on the outside. As our souls goes, there goes the rest of our lives.
We sing and enjoy the song “Call on the one from Bethlehem” which tell us to call on Jesus when in trouble. This song is good for a baby christian who recently received the Holy Spirit, but God is calling us to walk in maturity. To move from calling on Jesus to walking in the power and authority of Jesus. Before Jesus left he told His disciples that they who believeth on him will do greater works than he (St. John 14:12-14) Jesus left us a comforter which is the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. This Holy Spirit is the incorruptible seed that IICorth. 4:7 speaks of which enables us to do the greater works.
Jesus also told us that those who believe on him would cast out devils, raise the dead, heal the sick. (Mark 16:17-18 ) Jesus works is finished here on earth. He now sits on the right hand of the Father making intersession for us. (Rom. 8:34). The ball is now in our hands, so stop calling on Jesus in helplessness and use the authority which he has given you.
